The last few weeks in ESI!

Busy Busy Busy!

Our Faith Day ice Sculpture created by one of our talented teachers.

Wow, the last little while in our classroom has been a busy one. We have completed many activities, including our pumpkin carving with grade 2/3 (thanks for the invitation), our orange and black day BFG activities in the gym and our lead up to the Remembrance Day liturgy. We have been working on our stamina in reading this month and are now up to 10 minutes of reading to self consistently. Many of the students are excited to be working on our Folk and Fairytale unit. So far Chicken Licken and The magic Pot seem to be favourites!

In the upcoming weeks we will be working on the last of our Fairytales and will be moving onto our new unit in English Language Arts, Math will be a buzz with patterning and numbers to 100, Science we will be wrapping up our senses unit and in Social Studies we are exploring the provinces, territories and their capitals.

In October Grade 6 performed The Giving Tree for our recognition ceremony. Grade 5 are next!

We will be going on our first field trip this year on Friday to Canada Olympic Park. We will see how all the students react to the new Terry Fox exhibit. Should be a fun day. We will also be moving into  our December activites and for those of you who have had students in my class before you know already, but for parents new to my program watch out for sparkles in the backpacks!

December is Sparkletastic in ESI!
