The last few weeks in ESI!
Wow! There has been so much happening in our room recently. Where to start?
Well firstly we are deep into our projects on the northern nation of Iqaluit. Students have researched animals of the arctic, what they eat, where they live, and how they stay warm. Our next step is to work on Google drive to search for information to present on Google Slides. We will then be looking at the Innukshuk and it's relevance to the people of the north. Following our study we will move our class for the day into the Makerspace area in the library to create our 3D models. Photos to follow!
This week we will be making our robots from the recycling materials. Stay tuned for pictures.
We watched a wonderful presentation from Kananaskis in the classroom called "The Good, The Bad and The Invasive". Max, our presenter, introduced students to the plants native to Kananaskis and the invasive species we are trying to get rid of. Selected students were encouraged to partcicpate in the presentation and in class afterwards. The students enjoyed the antics of Max dressed as plants on the stage.
